About Adcorp Computers
Adcorp Computers is a locally owned IT services provider delivering managed IT support, network design, cyber security and infrastructure work for small and medium-sized businesses. Our technicians work hands-on with clients daily — from helpdesk tickets through to network builds, security assessments and technology roadmaps. We're bringing on an enthusiastic IT student or recent graduate for a structured, paid 12-week internship.
About the Role
This internship is real work on real client environments, not shadowing. You'll support our technicians on day-to-day tickets, assist with infrastructure and network projects, and get supervised exposure to the tools a professional managed services provider runs on — ticketing systems, Microsoft 365 admin, switches and access points, documentation. It's a genuine 12 weeks of building skills you can put on a resume.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-level helpdesk and desktop support, logging and tracking tickets through to resolution
Assist with setup, configuration and deployment of workstations, laptops, printers and peripherals
Support installation and basic configuration of network hardware — switches, routers, access points, cabling
Assist with user account administration, including Microsoft 365 / Active Directory tasks under supervision
Help maintain accurate documentation — network diagrams, asset registers, support procedures
Assist senior technicians with backups, patching and routine system health checks
Support basic troubleshooting of hardware, software and connectivity issues
Join client site visits and installations alongside experienced staff
Contribute to internal projects, including technology assessments and process improvements
Follow Adcorp Computers' security, privacy and WHS procedures at all times
What You'll Gain
Structured mentoring and on-the-job training from experienced IT professionals
Exposure to real client networks, environments and enterprise-grade tools
Practical experience to complement your studies or qualification
A reference, and a possible pathway to ongoing employment for the right candidate
Paid, supervised work experience suitable for a resume or portfolio
About You
We're looking for curious, reliable and coachable — not years of experience.
Essential
Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a qualification in IT, Computer Science, Networking or a related field (Cert IV, Diploma, or Degree)
Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS) and general networking concepts
Strong communication skills and a professional, client-facing manner
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions and procedures
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Current driver's licence desirable for occasional client site visits, not essential
Desirable, not essential
Exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or a helpdesk/ticketing system
Basic familiarity with networking hardware — switches, routers, firewalls — or structured cabling
Relevant coursework or certifications, e.g. CompTIA A+ / Network+, or CCNA studies
Internship Details
12 weeks, fixed-term, with possible extension or ongoing employment based on performance and business needs
This is a paid position — not a volunteer or unpaid placement
Structured onboarding and induction in week one
Regular check-ins and feedback sessions with your supervisor across the placement
Happy to liaise with your educational institution if this needs to satisfy a work-integrated-learning or placement requirement
